About The Blog

"Golf is a good walk spoiled."
-Mark Twain

"I'm going to give you a little advice.  There's a force in the universe that makes things happen.  And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball."
-Ty Webb

Two great philosophers commenting on a game that is equal parts maddening, exhilarating and memorizing.  What is it about this game that makes us keep wanting more, even though more often than not, it ends up repeatedly punching us in this face?  I suppose we are all out there searching for that one perfect day, when the swing feels pure, the putts are rolling true, and the fairway looks like it is miles wide.  We will hit balls until we can't feel our hands, put on a winter hat and hit the links when the ground is frozen solid and spend a small fortune on gadgets offering the promise of shaving a few more strokes off our score all in the hopes of chasing perfection -- a concept in golf that is as illusory as it gets.

This blog is dedicated to the wonderful (and sometimes wacky) sport that captures our imagination, empties our bank accounts, drives us close to the edge, but always has us looking forward to the next round.
